Heat Emboss

Last Friday night I had a heat emboss glass.  It was a lot of fun creating new cards with friends.  The following two cards that we did that night.  This one is embossed on vellum it gives it a lovely soft touch.  I really like it.  Then use markers to colour the outlined images, blend with a blender pen and there you have it.  Beautiful.  Easy when you know how.  One trick is also to use Stampin up! Vellum card stock.  It is thicker and therefore does not burn or brown when the heat gun is applied.  Yet it still has that soft transparent look.  I love it.  I think I have said that already..

The card below is from Lovely as a tree, another of my favourites.  It has been heat embossed with Copper powder.  I like this effect it is great for a more masculine looking card.  Sorry the photo does not quite do it justice.   Hope you enjoy them.

Green leaves

I have had a couple of camera problems so I have not been able to take photos of the back yard.  Hopefully all will be fixed soon.  I am sure you have guessed we have a pool.  Yes I know it is too cold to go swimming but at least it will be ready for Summer.

So in the mean time I thought I would show you a card that a made a couple of weeks ago.  Thank goodness I took a photo then.  Hope you like it.

I thought I would get out an old set and have a play.  For something a little different I used the tab punch under the oval punch to provide a bit of difference.  Looks good I think.

A new addition!

Hi It has been a busy week and not a lot of stamping has been getting done.  But here is some pics of what has been happening in our back yard... The bob cat came and dug a big hole.  The kids were amazed at the drivers skills and speed.  DS sat and watched the whole thing for 3 hours with out moving...  Maybe we should have a bobcat come and dig holes more often.

One more sleep and the crane arrived....  Well I don't know how much sleep my son got..

I was told it was a good crane because it does not use the same magnets like Cranky!!( from Bob the Builder) So the pool should be OK.  And it is red Mum so that is good.
I have to done load the images of the pool so I will be back later to give you a look and show you the mess of our back yard...

Take care

Resisting flowers...

This is a card we did at a class a little while ago.  The technique is crayon resist.  It is a great technique as it really makes the images stand out.  You stamp the glossy card stock with an outline image using stazon ink.  Then with a normal white crayon you draw on the card stock were you want it to remain white.  Then sponge the images with ink in the pattern that you like.  Done that is crayon resist.  It does take some time getting the sponging right so  add a little ink at a time.  Have some fun with this technique.

Stamps : Time well spent, Occasional Greetings

Card stock: Glossy White, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum

Ink: Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Stazon Black ink

Groovy Flower!

Another take on the Fabulous Flower set.  I have had a lot of fun with this set.  I really like the effect with the crystal effects..  I used the kiss technique for this flower too.  The kiss technique is really applying or removing ink with another stamp.  (They kiss, rubber to rubber) I inked the big flower in the set with blush blossom then inked another flower with Guava and stamped it randomly onto the large flower with the blossom ink still on it.  I repeated this with another flower and purely pomegranate.  Remember go from lightest to darkest...  The crystal effects lifts the colours and seems to blends the edges.

Stamps : Fabulous flowers, and It's your birthday

Card stock: Purely Pomegranate, Groovy Guava, Blush Blossom
