Nothing says summer like a warm yellow glow!! Well it has certainly been summer here in Perth with most days being above 38'C and it looks like it is going to continue for another week at least. I was blog surfing yesterday and saw that Lisa had her first challenge at Poppy Paperie. Lisa has a lovely blog and is definitely worth a look. I was inspired, so I gave it a go. This is the challenge

This is my card.... I love this rose, yes orange roses are one my favs.

Gone with the wind... Baby..

I was in my local craft shop I saw this very cute stamp. It is called Gone with the wind and it is from the House Mouse series. It is so cute. In fact I thought the whole range was lovely. I have used it for a friends baby card. Here is the card I hope it brightens your day.

Hi there.. It has been so long. I have been missing in action... well enjoying my family. I have time off work and have enjoyed have not time constrainst. Bambi!!

We are all back safe and sound, however things on our return were a little stressful. It has taken me a few days to settle in and put my trust in God. I will continue to lift my friends and family in prayer to the Lord who has the power to heal. I had made this card just before going on holidays. I think it is such a cut stamp set. Hi there!! Hope you have had a good week. It was lovely warm yesterday and cooler again today, great for stamping.

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #21

Wow what a month. It has flown by. Today is about catching my breath and creating. Father's day is next week so must get organised. I love the Magnolia stamps and I must admit that Tilda is my favourite. So I pulled her out and had a play. The Challenge at Magnolia Down Under was a little different to usual. You had to create a card using, 1 flower, 2 ribbons, 3 brads and 4 papers at a minimum. I have never created in a challenge like this before. I hope you enjoy it.

Off the Page !! Baroque Motifs!!

Well this is really off the page. I must admit that my lovely husband has done the hours of hard work. I just get to stamp on it. This is one of my birthday presents, and I must say it is looking lovely.

Yes it is a guitar !! A little out of the ordinary... (not finished yet however)

Everything got stamped.. Even the back.. (In true stamper style) Sorry no photo's of the back just yet. This is a bass guitar made out of Sheok one of my favourite timbers. (A beautiful Western Australian Timber) Black stazon works wonders on wood. She is still to get her final coats of varnish, pick ups and metal work inserted, strings, then she is good to go. Who would have thought....

I have named her SHE. Hoping this will deter male bass players from playing her. She is all mine. Hehehe. Cannot wait till she is all in one piece.

African Lily

What a busy week. Anna came home with a note saying that she had to be an African for assembly on wednesday. So I got the sewing machine out. Well here is my take on an African lady. This is my version. I got to have a play with some New things. The sprtizer from SU. I have never used it before and think it is quiet a sutle effect. Also the new Scallop oval punch is lovely... Scrappy day

How was your week end? Good I hope. I had some time to have a play and create a scrapbook page. This page is of the lovely Anna on our holiday. (I know it was a few years ago now.) I was inspired by the lovely Makeesha's scrap pages here. She is so talented and has some lovely creations to share. It is well worth a look.

I am noticing a trend however, I always use circles when I scrap. Note to self, next time try something new. Hope you like it.

Scrappin with neighbours !!

Well this week end I stepped out of the normal. I scrapped!! You did hear me right. I loved this neighborhood wheel and as soon as I saw it I remembered some photos of a few cuties when we moved house a few years ago. WOW time really flys. Sorry i have neglected my blog. I have to pull my socks up and finish a few things. I also need to be around while the sun is out to take some photos. I have not been home till after the sun goes down most days. BUT in the interim I have a few projects I have completed a little while ago.

I will put my thinking cap on this week end and make something and take some photos ofthem and of things that have yet to make it here.

Fifth Avenue Floral Autumn Bouquet

I am so sorry that it has been so long since I posted a card. Life has been busy since my return from Convention, work, family and sick children that have now blessed me with there sickness. I like this card as it looks like a nice bouquet of flowers. Just what I need to get well. Here's hoping I wake up tomorrow with a voice. :)

I hope that you all had a wonderful this Easter as we remember Christs death and wonderous ressurection. May it also be a time of cherishing family and friends.

I have been busy with work preparing to have some days off enabling me to attend Stampin Up's Convention for the first time. I am very excited but a little tired with a long list of things to do. I have a card that I hope will enspire you a little. This card utilises a technique called crayon resist. I think this technique is really effective and love this. I am sorry it has been a while since my last post.

Sorry I have been lost in action. My beautiful girl had an operation last week and I got the opportunity to be her personal nurse. I really enjoyed being able to care for her. I think it was good mother and daughter time. We played games and ate ice cream together, and even bought some shoes...

The new Catalogue is beautiful and there are so many wonderful things in there. The only problem is that they all look like they are on my wish list;) I am about to go and place my order for the New SU Year.. but before I go here is a "wanted" card. I was looking at Amy's lovely blog again and was inspired by her challenge. I had seen a old retired SU set, Simply Sweet, and thought I should have a play with that again. It was one of my first SU sets ever and I love it. SO this is my take on Amy's challenge.

I think it turned out well. The photo shows the colours a little differently. I did try to get them looking more realistic without a lot of success. I will try and take another photo sometime tomorrow.. If I get time. This is the sketch.

WOW what a week end. It has gone sooo fast, shopping for my lovely daughter, her birthday is Tuesday. I also made cakes for school and even played wii for a little bit with my little man. Tomorrow work is on again, gee it seems to come around so fast. But it is a blessing to have a job.

Anyway I did a little bit of creating at my stamp desk tonight. I love Amy's Sketch so I thought I would give it a go. Amy's blog is great well worth a look. It is here.

I have some brother-in-law's about to have birthdays so I thought I would combine the two.

A little bit of jewellery...

It has been a while since a created a some jewellery. I have seen some nice long necklaces that you can double over or wear long. I thought this would be nice to have one of them, so I pulled out my stash of beads and spent ages deciding on colours shapes and sizes. Oh and i had the same problem, yes that is grey but it has a browny colour in it so it does not go. (One reason I love Stampin Up everything is a consistant colour..) I thought I would share. I little different...

This is it doubled over as the full length photo did not look as good. ;)

Oh my another sketch challenge... yes well I went to give one of my nieces a birthday card to find that I only had a couple of cards that would have been suitable. I was saddened as the card we gave to Charis, I thought it was not as girlie as it could be....no glitter... no sparkes.. At least there were flowers. Annaliese thought the card I sent was lovely... she chose it.. This predicament set me to work and make up some little girl cards. I have 7 neices so I have plenty of little girls to make for.

I was blog crusin for inspiration and saw Amy's sketch challenge and well i just had to give it a go. LOL... Amy's site is lovely and full of lots of tutorials and inspiration. it can be found here.

Hi hope your week end is going well. Sorry it has been a whole week since I have got here. Work has been very busy, however very enjoyable. I saw Kristina's Colour Challenge and thought it called for some Water colour crayons. Something I have not used for a while. We don't have Kiwi Kiss here in Australia yet so I substituted it with Old Olive. I must say I like Kiwi Kiss and look forward to having a play with it when it arrives in Australia. Oil of joy for mourning...

I wanted to send a sympathy card to someone and I was stumped. I thought what do you say... Hmm your heart feels for them but what do you say in a card or a note. I then thought of God's word for inspiration and was so happy that I had a stamp that said exactly what I wanted to say. The stamp is from Verve.

The verse is Isaiah 61:3 "give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified." KJV

All the other stamps are Stampin Up's. This layout could be changed for a more masculine card. I hope you like it. Maybe if that unfortunate day comes when you too have to send a loved one a card from your heart, you may be inspired.
